Arshak III

Arshak III (Armenian: Արշակ Գ) was the last king of the part of Armenia that was put under Roman domination by the Peace of Acilisene.

Arshak III originally came to power as co-king with his brother Valarshak in 380 during Manuel Mamikonian's domination of Armenia. In the mid-380s, after Manuel died, Arshak's power was lessened by invasion of the land by Persian forces.

From 387 on he was only king of a small part of Armenia, west of a line running from Erzurum to Mush. He died in 389 and after that Armenia was made a province of the Eastern Roman Empire.
